Jennifer Clover was born in Winston Salem, North Carolina and moved with her
family to Summit, New Jersey at age 12. She received a BS in English from Syracuse
University in 1990 and later earned a Masters degree in Education from the
College of Notre Dame.
Jennifer rode hunters and equitation as a junior and continued with hunters as
an amateur owner. During this time she worked with top international level hunter/jumper
trainer Mike Henaghan.
She turned to eventing during her years as a middle school teacher. Shortly thereafter,
Jennifer took a chance and decided to follow her dreams, pursue a career with
horses, and accepted the position as Director of Equestrian Programs for the
Greenwell Foundation in Hollywood, Maryland. Greenwell offered therapeutic riding
instruction as well as regular riding instruction. Jennifer then found that she
wanted to dedicate her time fully to her own goals of riding, training, and teaching;
and began working as a freelance instructor and trainer full time. She bases
her business out of Allan Sport Horses in Brandywine, Maryland.
Jennifer has trained and competed D’Artagnan through preliminary level. In 2006
they qualified for and successfully competed at the American Eventing Championships
at Preliminary. They also successfully completed their first one star three
day event at Hagyard’s Midsouth Three Day Event and Team Challenge at the
Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky.
Currently Jennifer has horses from private owners in training as well as a young
event prospect that she owns with Samantha Allan. Horses and students come
to Jennifer for eventing, dressage, show jumping, hunters, equitation, foxhunting,
or pleasure riding. Jennifer shares her love of horses and the sport with students
and owners by using a positive, goal oriented approach.
Jennifer is currently working with Samantha Allan, Susan Graham White, and Jimmy
Wofford. She has also trained long term with Mike Henaghan. icky Vogel.
She has trained short term with Lucinda Green, Phillip Dutton, Bonnie Mosser,
Denny Emmerson, Debbie Bowman, Kelly Corrigan, and Becky Langwost-Barlow.
