Every Wish at the 2004 Virginia Horse Trails X-Country Movie

Owner for Wish:  Dr. Michael and Arleen Strider

Wish is one of the most amazing horses that I have ever ridden.  He won his first CCI* at Morven Park in 2002, and after 2 intermediates completed the Stuart Horse Trials CIC** in 2005, quickly moving up to and completing his and my first advanced at the Millbrook Horse Trials in August of 2005.  In September of 2005 Wish and I earned 5th place at the American Eventing Championships at the intermediate level.  Wish is truly a special horse who loves his job and makes going cross country feel like a walk in the park.  I am truly thankful for every day that I have spent with him and riding him.  Wish spent the winter of 2007 being fox hunted by his owner Dr. Michael Strider and is going to be going training and preliminary this fall with Jennifer.  Wish is a horse that truly deserves his name “Every Wish”.

Name: Scimitar
Color: Bay
Type: Gelding
11 yr old Hann/TB

Owner: Ann Compton and Samantha Allan

Movie

Scimitar is a good mover and powerful and athletic jumper. He is friendly to all (horses and humans) and loves to give kisses for treats. He is very brave over fences and is also quiet enough to pony babies off of. Scimitar is a very intelligent horse who loves to play tug of war and teach others to do the same. We are currently competing at preliminary and looking to move up to intermediate at Waredaca this fall. He has done well this fall placing 1st at Loudon and 2nd at Marlborough Horse Trials. I look forward to seeing what successes are waiting for us in the future as he has grown up and settled into his work. He is a joy to ride and loves to stand and observe the scene around him. When you are on him you feel as though you are on a different plane watching the world move around you. He has a zest for life that makes me giggle with his sense of humor.

Razz is currently doing Kindergarden and will be under saddle later this year.  He has a wonderful temperament and is a snuggly, sweet, playful young boy.  We look forward to seeing what he becomes in the future.

Update: Razz went to the Future Event Horse competition at Frying Pan Park in August and along with a great education got third at his first show.  He is currently starting to walk under saddle and is starting to understand that the leg means to move forward…not stop turn and nip…

Eveready is a long legged, elegant Thoroughbred with fabulous gaits and has a scopey powerful jump.  It is hard to miss him in a group of horses.   Eveready is currently competing at beginner novice and successfully did the championships course, by accident, at the Marlborough Horse Trials.  A favorite to visitors in the barn, Eveready a very large, sweet puppy dog.  He loves small children and likes to sniff their hair.  I am excited to see how he progresses in the future.
